We are a group of folks who love the Lord and each other. We strongly believe in being a "Church Family." We offer opportunities for children through adults to grow in Christ. And we are involved in missions around the world. We are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and the SBCV of Virginia which is a conservative association of churches.
If you are new to Hollins Road Baptist, here are some things you may want to know to help you get settled:
COME AND SEE
You are welcome at any of our services or ministry meetings as you are getting to know our church.
If it is just you coming, 5-10 minutes before Sunday School or the worship service begins is ample time to get settled. If you have multiple children to get checked in, we recommend arriving 20 minutes early.
On a Sunday morning, you will see folks in a suit and tie, and you may also see folks in shorts and flip flops (unless it is winter time - then they probably won't wear shorts, but you get the idea). So come dressed in a way that helps you to worship God. Almost all of our other gatherings are casual.
Picking up children younger than middle school at any of our ministry meetings and services is simple yet secure. We will provide parent(s)/guardian(s) with a "Guest Security Card" when you drop off your child, and then you return that card with it's unique alphanumeric code when you pick up your child. This ensures that your child is returned to you. If your family should choose to engage with Hollins Road regularly, we will make you a permanent Security Card to with more detailed information regarding who you deem safe to pick your child up for any child activity, as well as contact information and possible allergies.
Please feel free to call (540-362-9569) or email (email@example.com) the office with other questions you may have; we want to help!
We are glad you are interested in becoming a member of the Hollins Road Baptist Church Family! We have a wonderful congregation of people who truly love the Lord. We are not a perfect church (one does not exist in this world), but we are a loving and caring church that seeks to lift up the Lord and each other.
There are several ways to become a member:
1. Become a Christian: Open your heart to the Lord Jesus Christ asking Him to forgive you of your sins and to make you His child. Then, come forward during a service and share with the Pastor that you have become a Christian and would like to be baptized and join the church.
2. Statement of Faith: Coming on your statement that you are already a Christian and have been baptized by immersion (under the water).
3. Baptism by Immersion: You became a Christian in the past but have never been baptized by immersion.
4. Transfer of church letter: You became a Christian, experienced baptism by immersion and joined another church.
Once you become a member and part of the Hollins Road Baptist Church Family, please check out our Ministries page to see where you can get plugged in at our church.
