Rev. Washington has been our Pastor since 1990. He is married to Janet and they have two children, Rebekah and Lydia and a precious grandson Julian. He is a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Master's of Divinity 1987) and a graduate of Clemson University (B.S. Mechanical Engineering 1983). mwashington@hrbc1.com

Tim has been serving Hollins Road Baptist since 1997. He served as our Youth Minister from 1997-2007. In 2007 his duties were changed to serve as our Minister of Education and Family. He also works full-time as a School Resource Officer for Roanoke City Schools. He and his wife Debbie have two children and six grandchildren. tyoung@hrbc1.com

Greg officially joined staff in February 2019, he had been serving as interim youth pastor since 2017. He is part time at Hollins Road Baptist and full-time as a HVAC specialist Family with GJ Hopkins. He went to Liberty University and studied Communications. Melissa began serving on our staff in 2020. She's part-time, very gifted and loves children's ministry. She's married to Chuck and they have a son who's a graduate from Emory and Henry and works for Mattern and Craig. mkiser@hrbc1.com

Janet has served as our Music Director since 2014. She is the wife of Rev. Washington. She has a Bachelor's in Math from James Madison University as well as a Master's in Math from Virginia Tech University. She is also a high school Math teacher for Roanoke County Schools. jwashingtonjmu@gmail.com

Brenda is married and has 2 grown children and 5 grandchildren. She has been a member of HRBC since the year her father (Chips Doyle) was called as senior pastor. She graduated from William Byrd High School and Bluefield Junior College. The many years at Hollins Road have given her the blessing of serving in WMU, Sunday School, Discipleship Classes, Women’s Ministry, Youth Ministry, Children’s Ministry, AWANA, and Music Ministry. Her life verse is Jeremiah 29:12-13, “Then you will call upon Me and come and pray unto Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.”

Debbie has served since 1989. She also serves as our Sunday School Secretary. She and her husband Tim (our Minister of Education and Family Life) have 2 children and 6 grandchildren. dyoung@hrbc1.com

Becky is the Financial Secretary for the church. She has enjoyed being in this position for 4 years. She has also been involved working with the AWANA kids, VBS, Hanging of the Greens, the Budget Team, Greeters. Flo Doyle Circle and several other teams during her 17 years at HRBC. She has been married to her husband Gary for 42 years. In their spare time, they enjoy traveling and spending time with their family and friends.
